Creativity quotes A R Rahman

This is great advice coming from A. R. Rahman, the Indian musical master. I love this.

All the budding creative people must stick this lesson on their walls. Because the world tries to make all of us 'normal'. There are standards and averages for everything.

So, if you have flaws in your persona, the environment will try to iron these peculiarities out. It happens in the form of well-meaning suggestions from teachers, parents, peers. And if you listen to them, you will lose your originality.

So observe closely, what are the original flaws you have? Something that only you do? Even if it doesn't fit into the proclaimed, right way of doing things.

Work on using these flaws. Give them an expression. And be proud of them.

Simple. Just the Bulova watch on the screen. And an announcement--America runs on Bulova watches!A reminder to all of us that historic moments need not be dramatic. Big ideas start small.
