Tuesday Is The Deadline!

December 23, 2021

Just now I finished my last article for this year, for my Sunday Column in a Hindi newspaper. It's completion of the 7th year for this column. 52 articles a year, week after week, now amounting to about 350 of them.

When I started, I had a career in advertising behind me. As a copywriter, I wrote TV commercials. Short, 30 second stories. So, the thought in mind, rather the anxiety, was, how would I write long articles with such regularity?

This column is about self-growth and a success-mindset. I share tips and approaches with my readers, connecting them to current news and events.

In the beginning, it took me 4 days to write an article. And then, as I wrote more and more, now I dash out a column in an hour. Maximum, two.

And I write this column even in the toughest of situations: Brand launches for clients, long train journeys, camping in the internet-dark zones.

Now, to the important point: Why do I don't write so regularly for my own blog?

It's the deadline that makes all the difference. An editorial team chases me for the article every Thursday.

So, here I am creating a deadline for myself. Every Tuesday I will post an article here. That's a promise. To you. And to myself.

And at the same time on a branch an

Often people make fleeting statements about it. In a recent WhatsApp chat someone posted: Creativity will make you prosper, help you live a happy life...and many such things. I felt amused. If it was so, why are so many artists and writers
